Local SEO: Is it worth it?

In this article, we will be discussing Local SEO Services and after reading the term ‘Local’ with SEO some of you might have already guessed what we will discuss further.


Local SEO can be understood as the specialization of SEO through which any website is optimized to show the search results in the immediate proximity of the user, in other words, we can say that with the help of local SEO we optimize the website to show location-specific results. We might have observed that most of the search results that appear to us on Google usually are local whether it is related to any restaurant, some services, or any product availability. 

So, that means if yours is a local business and you don’t have local SEO, you're missing out on an opportunity to get your business, product or service noticed every time someone searches about the same in their locality.  

Local SEO is a similar practice like we do in an organic SEO but with the advantage of a geographical component which means Google and other search engines use a user’s location based on IP address (for desktop) and geolocation (for mobile) to determine what results to show the user.

So, with these stats, it is quite clear that local SEO plays a major role in getting your business noticed.  

Now that we have talked over quite a few things about local SEO the next question that comes into mind is ‘How local SEO works?

and we can say that it works like a ‘normal’ Google search it can be understood as like when you optimize your website for local searches you let Google know through all kinds of signals that your business is located in a particular area and you want to be found by the target audience of that particular area. What makes Local SEO unique is that Google uses different ranking factors to rank the local search results. 


Any Local SEO has its own unique set of ranking signals that include: The location that the person is searching from, as we have discussed earlier Local SEO mainly focuses on optimizing the websites of the business in your locality, and as we search browse the web from our mobile phones it shows results based on our location. 


Local SEO is also influenced by the presence of Google My Business listing, it is a good place to start to make the presence of your business on the Google search engine. Another factor influencing Local SEO is the keywords used in Google My Business profile as most the people search for particular keywords (like salon services, restaurants near me, etc.) while browsing the web. 


One of the most important factors in this can be the number of ‘check-ins’ at that location, more the number of check-ins at a particular business better are the chances for that business to get noticed. And one other factor of major importance in this context can be, Google maps star rating for your business, as all of us constantly lookout for the best quality services and products for everything, and for that, the thing that influences our choice the most is by looking at Google map rating of that business better the rating more are the chances for the product or service to be picked up by the customer.
